As the race for the stage continued up the road, just five kilometers left for the leaders, the race for the Maillot Jaune was touched off on the slopes of the Mont Ventoux. Once Pierre Rolland (Cannondale-Drapac) was contained, it was the darling of Colombia, Nairo Quintana (Movistar) who went on the offensive. Quintana had to go and went he did! Now it remains to be seen if the remaining strength of Team Sky could bring Chris Froome forward, or the fleeing Quintana back. The man on the front for Sky was a countryman of Quintana, Sergio Henao, however team loyality necessarily supersedes national loyalty in the Tour. Now if was the World Championships, I am sure that Henao would ride Quintana (or the other way around).
