Over the Top

I am a avid fan of cycling and a former amateur racer. In fact I left racing to concentrate on being an artist, but I have never lost my love for the sport. This is a painting from the 2012 Tour de France and shows the fans lining the crest of an alpine mountain and the tete a la course. I enjoy the composition of this piece, I feel like it helps to capture the effort and speed of the moment.
