He Has Done It! TDF19-119
This was Bridget's favorite today, and of every Colombian cycling fan! As the duo of Egan Bernal (Ineos) and his teammate Geraint Thomas approach the line at the top of Val Thorens, Thomas reached out and congratulated his young teammate. Just ahead of the duo, Mikel Landa (Movistar) crossed the line with his head down in exhaustion. His finish ensured that Movistar would retain the lead in the team compeition, but the Maillot Jaune was going to go to a Colombian for the first time in the history of the Tour de France! Bernal will also take the Maillot Blanc of best young rider. Hard to be better than the race winner. While there is still one more stage to race, tradition dictates that no one attacks the Yellow Jersey on the stage in to Paris. It is basically a promenade until the Champs Elysees. Once there it is full on racing for the honor of winning in the shadow of the l'Arc de Trimophe.
