The Big Surprise TdF56
Chris Froome (Sky) surprised them all, myself included. I have watch him struggle on mountain descents even spilling on occasion. Apparently, he had spent some time improving his abilities. It should be noted that he has competed on mountain bikes in the past. Froome was able to hold of those chasing from behind, and due to his 17 second victory added to his 10 second time bonus, he now has the Maillot Jaune (yet again) with a 16 second lead on his closest rival, Adam Yates (Orica-BikeExchange) and a full 27 seconds on those that are considered the biggest threat to his Jersey in Paris. With a mountain top finish tomorrow before leaving the Pyrenees, it will be interesting to see how the others try to counter Froome's surprise.
