Perhaps he had gotten frustrated with the pace of the break away, or perhaps he saw weakness in his companions, but whatever the reason, he was off on his own. Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) was adding to his lead from this former break away companions (and the peloton for that matter). With 29 kilometers to race and one more categorized climb, it was a big task facing the Trek-Segafredo rider. He had already built up over a minute on those chasing and over five minutes on the peloton.
