Good Ride
With the peloton bearing down on the pair in the break away, Thomas De Gendt (Lotto Soudal) reaches out to thank and salute Chris Anker Sorensen (Tinkoff Saxo) for a good ride out front for over 160 kilometers. There may have been an apology in the gesture after De Gendt yelled at Sorensen on one of the earlier summits. Down in the valley, De Gendt did not contest the second intermediate sprint, giving the points and the prize money to Dane. For his efforts, De Gendt will be pulling on the Polka Dot jersey of the King of the Mountains on the podium this evening.
