I\'ve Done What I Could
Michael Schar (BMC) has been one of the main guys riding on the front of the peloton day in and day out in service of his team leader, Tejay van Garderen. Today's intense effort in the Team Time Trial seemed to be just two much for him. After he had done a long, fast, hard pull on the front for his teammates, he swung off the front and waved the team car around him. Since five men are all that is needed at the finishing line, he knew that his sacrifice would help the team, whereas if he had stayed in the pace line, he would have slowed everyone down. His efforts were not in vain, the team was ultimately able to claim the stage, not surprising since the BMC is the current World Champion Team Time Trial Gold Medalist.
