He Loves to Win TdF22-39
Once Jonas Vingegaard was led out by his teammate Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emriates) had to respond. All he had to do was hold the wheels of the Jumbo-Visma duo, but no, that isn't his style. Instead he timed his sprint to perfection, just getting around Vingegaard for the stage win. He didn't need to win the stage, but he just can't let a stage victory go. That trait may be the only thing that could keep him from winning this edition of the Tour de France. But then he did take the Maillot Jaune on stage 8 last time. Vingegaard did hang on for second, moving himself up into second over all, just 35 seconds of the pace of the man in front. Compared to last year, Pogacar's lead is a much slimmer advantage over the first ten guys on the General Classification.
Now Roglic holds both the Maillot Jaune and the Maillot Blanc, plus he is just one point off the lead of the Maillot a Pois thanks to this stage victory.
