Attacking Early TdF22-85
It may not be usual to attack the yellow jersey early into a long 192 kilometer stage. But Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) does not race a usual race. As someone said earlier online, he races like he is in a junior cup one day race, not the queen of all cycling events that goes on for 21 days. He started the stage attacking the Maillot Jaune of Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) gapping him early. Vingegaard is not one to let anyone gain time on his lead. When the move happened Vingegaard's teammate, Wout Van Aert was glued to the wheel of the Maillot Blanc. With the help of other teammates Vingegaard got back on terms and never let Pogacar out of his sight for the rest of the day.
