After a little rain caused a spat of crashes, the wind got into the peloton and blew it into pieces all up and down the road. The flat narrow roads cutting through the ploughed fields left no shelter in the multiple groups on the road. It got so chaotic that I am not really sure which group this is. It may be one of the larger groups trying to get back up to the second group on the road that contained both the Maillot Jaune and the Maillot Vert. Many women were got out by the breaks and found their chances for a high placing in the Tour de France Femmes literally disappearing up the road. It may well mean that they will now be hunting stage wins instead of a top three in the race.
